Time for "The Talk"

Let's Talk Month - Original Image by Marc Wathieu via FlickrOctober is "Let's Talk Month," which means parents across the state are getting the message about how much you NEED the facts about sex, love and relationships.

We have resources for you to get The Talk started with your parents, and this month, the SC Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy is highlighting tips for adults on how to talk to teens about sex.  Point your mom, dad or other trusted adult in that direction to help give them hints on how to get the conversation started. Yes, talking about sex can be a little awkward at first, but it is less awkward than the "Surprise, I'm pregnant"-talk or the "You didn't know I was having sex, but I think I might have an STD now"-talk. So, talk to your parents. They can help you understand their expectations and help you get the information you need to stay safe and healthy.
